We are childhood friends who both had an exciting journey with math & board game. As kids, we went to specialized classes for math together (since primary school – for Vietnamese folks, it was Kim Lien Elementary school – Z2 specialized class & Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the gifted – 1st math specialized class). Needless to say, math plays a huge role in our lives. As adults (or are we?), we fall for another passion: board game.
Four years ago, we started a small board game movement in Vietnam. Fast forward to 2017, we have built a growing community of over 200,000 board game lovers, set up packed board game spaces across the country and held the first national board game design contest in Vietnam. Along the journey, we are always amazed by the power of the board game to induce real face-time interactions, moments full of laughter & educational benefits. However, we couldn’t find a math game that is truly engaging.
We created NumRush to make experience with numbers exciting and fun for kids. In the game, kids roleplay as the Mushrooms, inhabitants of the Arithmagic Forest. The Mushrooms control the Numbers (as live fantasy animals) with the spells (basic operations: Addition – Subtraction – Multiplication -Division). Competitive gameplay makes kids use their mental arithmetic skills intuitively & creatively.
We are very lucky to have the support from our amazing team.
